Box Score 2 3/19/2026 Fulton, MO - Westminster softball opened its spring break trip in Clermont with a split on Thursday, showing both resilience and offensive firepower across two games.
In the opener, Westminster fell 6-3 despite aggressive baserunning and early energy. The Blue Jays struck in the first inning as Paige Cruzan came around to score on a wild pitch. They continued to apply pressure on the bases, with Gabriella Pierre and Danijah Fluellen each swiping home later in the game to account for Westminster's three runs. Morgan Rusley led the offense with a perfect 2-for-2 performance at the plate, while Amber Dierling and Taylor Engelmeyer also added hits. Madison Plybon went the distance in the circle, allowing six runs (five earned) while working through seven innings.
Westminster bounced back in a big way in game two, earning a 10-2 victory behind an explosive offensive performance. The Blue Jays wasted no time, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding two more in the second to take early control. They broke the game open in the fifth with four additional runs, highlighted by an inside-the-park home run from Dameron and an RBI single from Carlie Regier, who led the team with three RBIs.
The offense was balanced throughout the lineup, as seven different players recorded hits, including Engelmeyer, Ellie Schisler, Gabriella Pierre, Cruzan, and Angela McQuarrie. Westminster also dominated on the basepaths, racking up 10 stolen bases in the game. In the circle, Peityn Thomas earned the win, allowing just two unearned runs over four innings while striking out five. Payton Dudenhoeffer added a scoreless inning in relief to secure the victory.
