9/17/2025 Fulton, MO - The Westminster women's soccer team hosted Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday evening, coming up short in a 4-1 loss at home.
The Titans opened the scoring in the first half and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime. Illinois Wesleyan added three more goals after the break to take control of the match.
Westminster's lone goal came in the 59th minute when Fiona Shelp finished her second of the season, giving the Blue Jays some momentum early in the second half. Shea Nortrup was credited with the assist. Goalkeeper Reagan Chigas made six saves in net while playing all 90 minutes, as the Blue Jays worked to contain a strong IWU attack.
With the loss, Westminster moves to 2-3 on the season. The Blue Jays will look to bounce back on Saturday, September 20, at 2 p.m., when they travel to face Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
