Blue Jays Blank Stephens for Second Win of the Season

9/10/2025 Fulton, MO – The Westminster women's soccer team turned in a strong performance Wednesday evening, earning a 2-0 shutout victory over Stephens College at home. 

The Blue Jays struck early when Emma Fontenot scored her second goal of the season in the 15th minute, finishing off a pass from senior Molly Angell. Westminster doubled its lead midway through the second half as Fiona Shelp buried her first goal of the year in the 66th minute to give the Jays breathing room. 

Westminster controlled much of the match, recording 12 shots (nine on target), while the defense held firm against 13 shots from the Stars. Goalkeeper Reagan Chigas posted her second clean sheet of the season, collecting four saves over 90 minutes. 

With the win, Westminster improves to 2-2 overall. The Blue Jays are back in action on Wednesday, September 17, at 6 p.m. when they host Illinois Wesleyan at Blue Jay Field.
