2/23-24/2024 Jackson, Ms - The Westminster College Baseball team traveled down to Jackson, MS to play a three-game series against Millsaps College. The Blue Jays would drop all three games to the Majors and fall to 3-6 on the year. 

 Game 1 Vs. Millsaps: Box Score

• On the mound for the Blue Jays sophomore, Derek Archer. Archer went 7 innings facing 27 batters and striking out 4 of them. After 7 strong innings the Blue Jays went to Matt Trout to relieve Archer. Trout went an inning and struck out 1 batter.  

• The Blue Jays offense was explosive at the start, scoring two in the second inning. 

• Offense was led Matt Lukins who hit a 2 RBI single to score Trent Rueckert and Aden Pecka.  

• The Blue Jays made the Majors pitchers work, earning 6 walks for the game.

Game 2 Vs. Millsaps: Box Score

• The Blue Jays struggled in Game 2 offensively.  

• Starting on the mound for the Blue Jays, Charlie Schweppe. Schweppe went 3.2 innings, facing 19 batters. Coming in to relieve Schweppe was Kaleb Hinkle-Pruett. Hinkle-Pruett went 2.1 innings facing 8 batters and struck out one.  

Game 3 Vs. Millsaps: Box Score

• Bode Gebbink gets the call for the Sunday start. Gebbink cruised through 6 innings, facing 24 batters: Striking out 6 of them and giving up 4 hits. To relieve Gebbink, Ryan Mills. Mills went 2 innings facing 9 batters, giving up 1 hit, 1 walk and struck out 1.  

• Offensively for the Blue Jays, the bats came alive and recorded 9 hits.  

• Blue Jays bats were not enough for the hot start from the Majors. The Majors scored 3 runs in the first inning. 

• Leading the offense for the Blue Jays was Matt Lukins, Troy Romero and Jason Pesold.
