Dalton Tucker enters his 3rd season as Head Men’s and 6th season as the Women’s Volleyball Coach at Westminster College, where he has established a reputation for competitive success, program development, and academic excellence. Since taking over the Blue Jays women’s volleyball program in 2021, Tucker has guided Westminster to multiple St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament appearances, including three championship match appearances, while helping elevate the program’s national profile.
Tucker has been named SLIAC Coach of the Year in 2021, 2024, & 2025. He has coached 28 All Conference selections and a Sliac offensive player of the year. He has also emphasized academic achievement within the program, helping Westminster earn consecutive American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award 4 years in a row and AVCA Honor Roll recognition the past 2 years.
In addition to his leadership of the women’s program, Tucker was selected to launch Westminster’s varsity men’s volleyball program, which officially began competition in 2025. In his first two seasons with the men’s program, they have an overall record of 40-19 and finished the 2026 season ranked in the top 25!
Before arriving at Westminster, Tucker gained collegiate coaching experience at Illinois College, MacMurray College, Grinnell College, and the University of Illinois Springfield. Throughout his coaching career, he has helped programs achieve conference tournament success, significant win improvements, and national-level club achievements.
A former standout libero at Robert Morris University, Tucker was a three-time First Team All-CCAC selection, a six-time NAIA National Libero of the Week honoree, and an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.
Women's Volleyball
2021-22: In Tucker's 1st season the Blue Jays went 14-16 and made it to the conference tournament championship game. He was also named the SLIAC Coach of the Year.
2022-23: In his 2nd season the Blue Jays went 19-17 and advanced to the conference tournament championship game for the 2nd year in a row.
2023-24: In his 3rd season, the Blue Jays went 19-14 and advanced to the conference tournament semifinals.
2024-25: In his 4th season, he led the Blue Jays a 18-16 record and would win the SLIAC Coach of the Year for a 2nd time and the would make the conference tournament for the 4th year in a row.
2025-26: In his 5th season he led the Blue Jays to the most wins in program history going 28-8 and was named the SLIAC Coach of the Year of the 2nd year in a row and his 3rd time winning the award. The Blue Jays would make it to the conference tournament championship game for the 3rd time in 5 years under Tuckers leadership.
Men's Volleyball
2025-26: Coach Tucker was tasked with leading the Blue Jays in the inaugural season for the Men's Volleyball program. the Blue Jays would go 18-13. They quickly established themselves as an independent program to watch.
2026-27: In the Blue Jays 2nd season, they continued the momentum from year 1, going 22-7 and earning a national AVCA top 25 ranking.
