April 3rd, 2026/Fayette, MO - The Westminster women's track & field team traveled to Central Methodist University for the second time in three weeks to compete in the two-day CMU Invite on Thursday, April 2nd and Friday, April 3rd. Seven athletes competed in the throwing events on Thursday, led by juniors
Natalie Stewart and
Emma Braby, who finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the javelin throw. After the weekend, five Blue Jays rank among the top eight in the conference in the event, including sophomores
Madison Kempker and
Amber Dierling, and freshman
Abby Dameron. Kempker and fellow sophomore
Karen Goodin also made their collegiate debuts in the hammer throw.
The team returned on Friday to compete on both the track and in the field. Both Dierling and Dameron made their outdoor collegiate shot put debuts, and Dierling tied her season-best mark (31.40) in the discus. Sophomores
Makayla Cordes (1500 and 800) and
Riley Vogel (5000) were the Blue Jays' lone competitors on the track; Cordes narrowly missed season-best marks in each.
The Blue Jays compete on Saturday, April 18th, at Culver-Stockton University, in what will be their final meet before the SLIAC Championship on April 24th-25th.
