Fulton, Mo. 4/15/2026 – Westminster College has launched a nationwide search for the next head coach of the women's basketball NCAA Division III program.
Established in 1992, the program has built a strong foundation within Blue Jays Athletics, competing in the Saint Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) while emphasizing competitive success, player development and academic achievement.
As a member of the SLIAC, the women's basketball team has established itself as a consistent contender within the conference. The Blue Jays have captured five SLIAC regular-season championships, with the first coming during the 2010–11 season, along with three SLIAC Tournament titles. The program has produced five SLIAC Players of the Year, five Freshmen of the Year, a conference-record seven Coaches of the Year, one Defensive Player of the Year and one Sixth Woman of the Year.
Westminster has also developed a tradition of individual excellence, highlighted by 66 All-Conference selections, two All-Americans, two NCAA postgraduate scholarship recipients and the program producing the SLIAC's all-time leading scorer. The Blue Jays' commitment to academic success is equally strong, earning the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 Team Academic Award nine times.
"We are looking for a leader who will uphold our mission, the academic standards set by our faculty and our department's core values while also living out championship culture to advance our women's basketball program into its next chapter of excellence," said
Dr. Jessica Brown, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Westminster's basketball court is housed within the College's Historic Gymnasium, where former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill famously delivered his "Iron Curtain" speech to a global audience exactly 80 years ago, providing a unique and historic setting for Blue Jays basketball.
Blue Jays Athletics is comprised of 21 varsity sports, including three inaugural sports that will debut in the 2026–2027 academic year: esports, women's flag football and competitive cheerleading. The Blue Jays are known for their commitment to both athletic excellence and academic rigor, with Westminster student-athletes earning a collective 3.14 GPA last semester.
