Fulton, Mo. 2/6/2026 — The Westminster College men's volleyball
team dropped a four-set decision to Lakeland University, 25-23, 25-20, 17-25, 31-29 in non-conference action on Friday.
Westminster stayed competitive throughout the fast-paced matchup, displaying balanced offensive production and tenacious defense against the Muskies. The Blue Jays and Lakeland traded momentum early, with Lakeland capturing the first two sets to take control of the match. Westminster responded with a strong third set, rallying to even the contest before the Muskies narrowly won the fourth.
Derrick Turner led Westminster's attack with 16 kills, pacing the Blue Jays' offensive effort.
Brady Sickles added 6 kills and a match-high 5 aces, while
Demitrius Allen contributed 10 kills in a solid all-around showing.
Connor Johnson stuffed the stat sheet with 42 assists and
Ryan Rhodes tallied 14 digs in the defensive effort.
Despite falling in the opener, Westminster pushed Lakeland in every set and showcased strong fundamentals and depth across the lineup. The Blue Jays will look to build on the performance as they continue their season.
The Blue Jays will look to bounce back when they host Greenville University on Wednesday, February 11 at 7:00 PM inside the Historic Gym.
