Feb. 20th, 2026/Jacksonville, IL - The Westminster men's track & field team traveled to Illinois College on Friday, February 20th to compete at the Hilltop Invitational, their final competition before the SLIAC indoor championship. Sophomore Ilana Heffer furthered her own program record in the weight throw with a mark of 9.67 meters, and junior Emma Braby jumped into the #2 spot on the program record list with a throw of 9.45 meters.

On the runway, sophomore Makayla Cordes, competing in her first collegiate long jump competition, placed eighth overall. Her best jump of 4.29 meters was the second-best in program history, and the best mark by a Blue Jay indoors since 2014. Cordes also competed in the 800-meter run alongside junior Sadie Brandt and sophomore Riley Vogel, whose times placed them 8th and 9th on the program record board, respectively.

The Blue Jays wrap up their 2026 indoor track & field season next weekend (Friday, February 27th - Saturday, February 28th) at Principia College in Elsah, IL.
