Blue Jays Go 2–1 in Wisconsin Weekend

1/31/2026 Fulton, MO - The Westminster men's volleyball team wrapped up a competitive weekend in Wisconsin with two wins in three matches, moving to 10–1 on the season. 

Westminster opened the weekend with a tight three-set loss to Marian, falling 25–22, 25–21, 26–24. Despite pushing each set to the wire, the Blue Jays were unable to close late points. Derrick Turner led the attack with 10 kills, while Brady Sickles added nine kills and six digs in the effort. 

The Blue Jays responded quickly in match two, sweeping Olivet in straight sets, 25–16, 25–19, 25–22. Westminster hit .282 as a team and controlled the match from start to finish. Connor Layman paced the offense with nine kills on a .500 hitting percentage, while Demitrius Allen contributed eight kills and two service aces. Charlie Haas added a strong all-around performance with five kills and three blocks. 

Westminster closed the weekend with a four-set win over Edgewood, 32–30, 25–19, 21–25, 25–14. After a marathon opening set, the Blue Jays settled in and took control behind a balanced offensive attack. Derrick Turner recorded a match-high 12 kills, while Layman (10 kills) and Allen (eight kills, three aces) also played key roles. Haas anchored the net with seven kills and four block assists. 

The Blue Jays return to action on February 3, traveling to Culver-Stockton for their next matchup.
