Westminster Wraps Up Rose-Hulman Invitational with Strong Weekend

9/6/2025 Fulton, MO – Westminster volleyball went 2–2 at the Rose-Hulman Invitational this weekend, battling through four tough matches. The Blue Jays earned wins over Ohio Northern and Knox while coming up short against host Rose-Hulman and Anderson (IN). At the conclusion of the tournament, Landrey VanOverschelde and Makenzie Sansone were named to the All-Tournament Team for their standout play. 

Match 1 – vs. Ohio Northern 
Westminster opened the weekend with a five-set battle against Ohio Northern, winning 3–2. 

  • Meghan Nolte powered the attack with 16 kills on .270 hitting. 

  • VanOverschelde guided the offense with 36 assists. 

  • Schnake was a defensive leader with 29 digs. 

Match 2 – vs. Rose-Hulman 
In their second match, Westminster dropped a straight-set decision to the host Engineers. 

  • Nolte tallied four kills and an ace. 

  • Hasselbacher finished with six kills on .200 hitting. 

  • Hansen added a team-high seven kills. 

  • Schnake again paced the defense with 14 digs. 

Match 3 – vs. Anderson (Ind.) 
The Blue Jays bounced back in a five-set thriller, losing to Anderson 2-3. 

  • Sansone was outstanding with 13 kills on .324 hitting. 

  • Hansen contributed 12 kills, while Nolte had 10 kills and 16 digs. 

  • VanOverschelde dished out 37 assists and added 16 digs for a double-double. 

  • Schnake anchored the defense with 22 digs. 

Match 4 – vs. Knox 
Westminster closed the invitational with a dominant sweep of Knox. 

  • Hasselbacher led with nine kills on .375 hitting. 

  • Nolte added six kills and two service aces. 

  • Hansen was nearly perfect with seven kills on .778 hitting. 

  • Schnake tallied 14 digs, and VanOverschelde finished with 20 assists. 

The Blue Jays now sit at 6–3 overall and return to action next week looking to build on their strong showing in Terre Haute.
