8/29/25 Fulton, MO – The Westminster men's soccer team opened the 2025 season at home in thrilling fashion, rallying from a halftime deficit to defeat Kansas Christian College 2-1 on Friday evening. 

The Falcons struck first in the 20th minute to give Kansas Christian a 1-0 lead heading into the break. Despite creating chances in the first half, the Blue Jays were unable to convert, forcing them to chase the game in the second period. 

Westminster responded with urgency after the restart. In the 56th minute, Nathan Naumann scored the equalizer to energize the home crowd. Just 10 minutes later, Christian Mahoro delivered the go-ahead goal, capitalizing on a setup from Braedon Cairer, who finished the match with two assists. 

The Blue Jays outshot the Falcons 29-5 and held a 16-3 advantage in shots on goal, forcing Kansas Christian's keeper to make eight saves. Danny Monroy anchored Westminster's defense, collecting two saves to secure the win. 

With the victory, Westminster begins the season 1-0 and builds momentum heading into its next match. The Blue Jays remain at home on Sunday for a 5 p.m. matchup against WashU.
