Westminster Wraps Up Florida Trip

3/26/25 Fulton, MO - The Westminster Blue Jays concluded their Florida slate with matchups against Lawrence and Lewis & Clark, battling in a high-scoring contest before struggling offensively in the finale. Despite strong performances at the plate in the opener, the Blue Jays were unable to close out a win. They now turn their focus to their next doubleheader at Hendrix on March 30.

Game 1: Lawrence 16, Westminster 7

Westminster's offense came alive with 13 hits, but Lawrence used a six-run seventh inning to pull away late in a back-and-forth battle. The Blue Jays responded in the 3rd inning, highlighted by a three-run double from Tatum Bradshaw to take a 4-2 lead. However, Lawrence answered with a five-run fourth inning, reclaiming the lead for good.

Chloe Ferguson had a standout game, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs, including a two-run double in the sixth to cut the deficit to 10-7. However, Lawrence gained six runs in the seventh, sealing the game.

Game 2: Lewis & Clark 10, Westminster 0 (5 Innings)

Westminster struggled to generate offense in the final game of the trip, as Lewis & Clark's nine-run second inning put the Blue Jays in an early hole. The Blue Jays were held to three hits, with Paige Cruzan leading the way with a pair of singles. Taylor Engelmeyer also recorded a hit, but Westminster couldn't push across a run.

Westminster will have a chance to reset before traveling to Hendrix for a road doubleheader this weekend. The Blue Jays will look to bounce back and get back in the win column.
