10/8/2025 Fulton, MO – The Westminster men's soccer team put together one of its most complete performances of the season, earning a 3-1 road victory over Webster University on Wednesday night. 

The Blue Jays jumped ahead early when Evan Schmitt found the back of the net in the 9th minute off an assist from Brandon Schaupert, giving Westminster the early momentum. After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, the Blue Jays doubled their advantage in the 55th minute when Schaupert converted a goal of his own, assisted by Braedon Cairer. 

Webster cut the deficit to 2-1 with a goal, but Westminster sealed the match late. With just seconds remaining, Noah Naumann buried a penalty kick in the 90th minute to put the game out of reach. 

Goalkeeper Hunter Deeken had a stellar performance in net, recording seven saves while allowing just one goal in 90 minutes of play. 

With the victory, Westminster improves its conference record and carries momentum into its next match. The Blue Jays return home to host Mississippi University for Women (MUW) on Friday, October 18, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
