10/19/2025 Fulton, MO – The Westminster men's soccer team celebrated Senior Day in style, cruising to a 5-0 shutout win over Mississippi University for Women (MUW) on Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Jays controlled the match from start to finish, firing off 30 total shots and holding the Owls to just three. Nathan Naumann got Westminster on the board early with back-to-back goals in the 12th and 20th minutes with assists from Braedon Cairer and Christian Mahoro. Just three minutes later, Khamani Matallah extended the lead to 3-0 off a feed from Brandon Schaupert, giving the Blue Jays a commanding advantage at halftime. In the second half, the offense didn't slow down. Matallah struck again in the 70th minute, once again assisted by Schaupert, before Juan Pico-Vazquez capped off the scoring in the 82nd minute to secure the decisive win.
Defensively, the Blue Jays were rock solid. Goalkeeper Hunter Deeken earned the shutout, recording one save as Westminster's backline stifled MUW's attack throughout the match.
With the win, Westminster continues its strong conference play and honors its seniors with a memorable home finale. The Blue Jays return to action on Tuesday, October 21, when they travel to take on Principia at 5:30 p.m.
