Blue Jays Split Series with the Eutectics 

3/16/24 Fulton, Mo - The Westminster College Blue Jays softball team hosted the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Eutectics for a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Eutectics won game 1 with a 10-1 final. The Blue Jays would win game 2, 4-2. Blue Jays improved to (3-12) on the year. 

Game 1 Vs UHSP: Box Score 

  • Starting in the circle for the Blue Jays was Haley Miller. Miller went 2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 walks. Coming in to relieve Miller was newcomer Mia Turner. Turner faced 16 batters going 3 innings and only gave up 2 runs. 

  • The Blue Jays struggled offensively, only getting 2 hits before the 4th inning. In the fourth inning, the Blue Jays started with a single to right center by senior Kelsey Logan. The Blue Jays quickly got two outs after the single, but Ellie Bedsworth helped the Blue Jays get an RBI single to left field to score Logan.

Game 2 Vs UHSP: Box Score  

  • In the circle for game two, Payton Dudenhoeffer Dudenhoeffer would go 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs. Dudenhoeffer would end the game with 96 pitches and 53 strikes, tallying up a 55% strike rate. 

  • The bats were hot for the Blue Jays in game two. The Blue Jays would end with 15 hits and 4 runs. 

  • Leading the offense for the Blue Jays were Madelynn Kordik, Emily Esquivel, Ellie Bedsworth, and Haylee Chandler.
