10/28/24 Fulton, MO - The Westminster Blue Jays (1-6, 0-4) faced a challenging matchup against Martin Luther this past Saturday, falling 46-14 in an away game that showcased both resilient moments and tough breaks for the team. 

Westminster struck early in the first quarter with a standout play from Dailan Brown, who returned a punt for a touchdown, followed by a successful two-point conversion that gave the Blue Jays an 8-6 lead. The team kept Martin Luther on their toes in the opening minutes, but Martin Luther responded quickly, capitalizing on field position, and extending their lead in the second quarter. The Blue Jays found the end zone again in the fourth quarter when Keegan Zdybel connected with Aaron Parks on a 36-yard touchdown pass, capping off a quick, 80-yard drive.  

Zdybel finished with 150 passing yards and one touchdown, though he was pressured consistently, which resulted in three interceptions. Parks led the receivers with 47 yards, followed by Payton Olsson, who contributed a solid 33-yard reception. On special teams, Aden Campbell made an impact with three kickoff returns for 68 yards, including a long 36-yard return. Punter William Corley saw frequent action, totaling 240 yards on seven punts, averaging 34.3 yards per punt. 

Despite Westminster's early scoring efforts, Martin Luther's dynamic offense and solid defense proved too much. The Blue Jays will look to regroup and bring a strong effort in their next matchup on November 2 against Greenville University.
