The Blue Jays Dominate in Game 3 Vs UHSP

Imperial, MO 3/26/23- The Westminster College baseball team was back in action this afternoon in game 3 against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy. They end up winning the game 14-4.

The Blue Jays offensively was explosive. The Blue Jays started the game out strong with a home run by Sophomore right fielder Skyler Bushey ( Saint Albans, Vt / Bellows Free Academy) in the first inning. Senior first baseman Spencer Keiser (Old Monroe, Mo / Winfield) tripled to score a run to make the game 2-0 in the second inning. Keiser went on to go 3-4 with 2 triples and a double getting 4 RBIs. Senior center fielder Steven Diaz (Highland, IL./ Highland)  helped the Blue Jays get 5 RBIs. Lastly Junior left fielder Chris Louie (Calgary, Alberta Canada / William Aberhart) went 1-3 at the plate getting 2 RBIs. The Blue Jay's offense combined for 17 hits and 14 runs.

 

Defensively for the Blue Jays on the mound is freshman Right-handed pitcher Coy Smith (Marshall, Mo/ Marshall). Smith ended up pitching 4 innings facing 20 batters giving up 5 hits and getting 2 strikeouts. In Relief for Smith was a combination of Blue Jays in Kaleb Hinkle-Pruett (Alton, IL / Roxana), Brayden Knittel (Ballwin, Mo/ Marquette), and Brian Henke (Jefferson City, Mo / Russellville). They went 5 innings and only gave up 1 hit while striking out 6 batters.
