Fulton, Mo., May 1, 2021 – The Westminster College Blue Jay Baseball team is back in action looking to continue the momentum from last weekends series win over the Iowa Wesleyan University Tigers. The Blue Jays enter todays games with a 14-14 overall record and are 10-10 in the SLIAC which puts them in 4th place with 8 games remaining. Today the Jays will welcome the 2nd place Spalding University Golden Eagles for four game series on Saturday and Sunday.

Taking a look at the Westminster College Blue Jays (14-14, 10-10 SLIAC):
- The Blue Jays are currently sitting in 4th place in the SLIAC race with eight games remaining.
- Last time out the Blue Jays swept a double header at home last Sunday against Iowa Wesleyan University 10-4 in game one and 13-2 in 7 innings in game two.

- Andrew Boessen leads the relief corps with 3 saves. He leads the staff with a 2.36 ERA and two complete games as a starter. He has a remarkable 35 strikeouts and just two walks in 34.1 innings pitched.
Taking a look at the Spalding University Golden Eagles (17-3, 19-12 SLIAC):
- The Golden Eagles are currently 2nd in the SLIAC heading into the home stretch.
- Spalding is coming into today after sweeping a doubleheader at home vs. Blackburn 3-0 where Spalding hurler Peyton Hood threw a no-hitter and 12-4 last Sunday.
- The Golden Eagles leading hitters are Eric Meyer who is hitting .454 with 4 home runs, 37 RBI's and an on base percentage of .583. Marcus Collins is batting .324 with 18 RBI's.
- Meyer also leads the team with 12 stolen bases. Mitchell Langley has 11 stolen bases.
- Peyton Hood leads the Golden Eagles on the mound going 4-2 pitching 38.2 innings while striking out 46 and walking 11 with a 0.70 ERA.
- Spalding as a team is hitting .273 with 9 home runs and an on base percentage of .387. In 31 games the Golden Eagles have scored 176 runs.
