GREENVILLE, Ill. - Despite a strong offensive night from Kendahl Adams, Westminster women's basketball fell 84-58 to Greenville for the team's first conference loss of the season.

The Blue Jays fall to 4-3 on the year and 1-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Panthers are 2-0 in the SLIAC with the win. 

"This was a tough afternoon for us as a team," said Westminster Head Coach James Arnold. "We were a step slow and just couldn't get things going. Greenville was picked to win the league for a reason. They shot the ball incredibly well and worked so hard."

Westminster managed to keep the game close in the first quarter with 11 points from five different players, ending the quarter 18-11 in favor of the Panthers. 

Adams hit 18 of Westminster's 20 points of the second quarter, including 18 straight points, to put the Blue Jays back in the game. Her third three-pointer of the quarter at the 6:14 mark gave Westminster its first lead of the game, but Greenville pulled ahead in the final minutes of the half to go up 38-31 at the midway point of the game. 

Westminster's offensive went stagnant in the third quarter, with Greenville outscoring the Blue Jays 29-16 in the quarter, including a Panther 9-0 run. 

The Blue Jay defense stepped in the fourth quarter to hold Greenville to just 17 points, but the offense was only able to add 11 to make the final score 84-58 in favor of Greenville. 

Adams finished the game with 22 points on 7-16 shooting, including going 4-7 from behind the arc. 

"As disappointing as today was, it was yet another great learning experience and growth opportunity for our team," said Arnold.

Westminster travels to Spalding next Saturday, December 9 for its next SLIAC matchup. 

"I am excited to have a little time off," continued Arnold. "We are ready to get some work in and prep for our trip to Spalding next week."
