FULTON, Mo. - Westminster volleyball played defending SLIAC Tournament Champions Greenville to five sets in a rematch of the 2016 championship, falling 3-2.

The Blue Jays end their season 21-11 with the loss. 

Westminster took an early lead in the set after a long back-and-forth match, finally pulling the set win 28-26. 

The Blue Jays again took a win in the second set, this time with a deciding 25-17 win. 

Ashley Kistaitis was on fire from the start, posting 14 kills in just the first two sets. 

Westminster started the third set out with a strong lead, but Greenville went on to take a 10 point lead at 16-6. Westminster was unable to make up the different, falling 25-18. 

The Blue Jays posted a stronger start in the fourth set, until Greenville pulled away from Westminster after an 8-8 tie. Five straight points from the Panthers posted a big gap that Westminster was unable to recover from. 

Westminster took another 25-18 loss in the fourth set, forcing a fifth set, the first of the tournament. 

After tying the score at 8-8 in the fifth set, Greenville went on to score seven more points to Westminster's one, to take home the fifth set and the championship 15-9. 

Kistaitis was dominant on the offensive end, talling 27 kills on 60 attempts for a .300 hitting percentage on the night. She also tallied 13 digs for the double-double. 

Hannah Marshall posted 15 kills. Bridget Ringwald led the way defensively with 37 digs. 

Kistaitis and Ringwald were both named to the All-Tournament Team. 

"I am so proud of our team and their effort this season," said Westminster Head Coach Natalia Koryzna. "We have a great group and I'm excited to see what is in store for us."
