Volleyball Picks Up 3 Wins At Eureka

The Westminster women's volleyball team leaves their two-day trip to Eureka with three more conference wins. The Westminster Blue Jays swept Eureka on Friday night, 3-0. On Saturday morning, the Blue Jays faced Spalding and won 3-1. They went on to play Eureka again, and swept them again, 3-0.

The Blue Jays leave Eureka with a 4-game winning streak, and are now 9-1 in conference play and 11-8 overall.

On Friday, the Blue Jays defeated Eureka 25-22, 25-15 and 25-13. They hit .298 as a team and totaled 46 kills. Freshman Hannah Marshall led the Blue Jays with 13 kills, hitting .455. Sophomore Amanda Kiso hit .600 with 9 kills and no errors on 15 attempts. Sophomore setter Kayla Reeg had 35 assists and 12 digs on the night, and sophomore Riley Lawrence had three service aces in the 3-0 win.

On Saturday, the Blue Jays won sets one and two, 25-14 and 25-20. Spalding took set three, 25-17, but the Blue Jays closed out the match with a 25-18 set four win. Lawrence led the Blue Jays with 13 kills on 35 attempts. Kiso added 11 kills with a .429 hitting percentage, along with 5 blocks. Reeg had 39 assists, 25 digs and three service aces.

 In the final game of the weekend, the Blue Jays defeated Eureka 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23. Junior Lexi Collier led the attack with 11 kills and a .467 hitting percentage. Reeg had 29 assists. Reeg and freshman Kendall Johnson had 11 digs each, and Johnson had three service aces. 

The Blue Jays return to the court on October 11 as they host Blackburn College at 9:30 a.m.
