Will Koustmer is entering his third season with the Blue Jays in 2026 and serves as the Defensive Line Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, and Recruiting Coordinator.
Koustmer brings a wide range of coaching experience to Westminster, having previously coached at Houston Christian University, Towson University, Tabor College, Hughes High School in Cincinnati, OH and St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, OH. Throughout his career, he has coached multiple position groups, including defensive line, linebackers, secondary, offensive line, and running backs. He has also held key roles as a scouting coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and strength and conditioning coach.
Since arriving at Westminster, Koustmer has helped develop one of the most productive defensive line units in the country. Under his guidance, the Blue Jays have produced the national leader in sacks, a conference defensive player of the year, and a conference defensive lineman of the year. His defensive line group also finished second in the country in sacks and third in the country in tackles for loss in 2025.
As Special Teams Coordinator, Koustmer has helped Westminster become one of the top special teams units in the nation. The Blue Jays finished in the top three nationally in blocked punts and punt return touchdowns, while also leading the conference in kickoff return average, punt average, and punts downed inside the 20-yard line. During his time at Westminster, he has coached eight all-conference players.
A proud graduate of DePauw University, Koustmer continues to build on his diverse coaching background while developing student-athletes on and off the field.
