Sara Stafford enters her 13th season with Westminster College and her ninth season as head coach of the Blue Jays softball program.
During her tenure with the Blue Jays, Stafford has guided the program to two conference regular-season championships while overseeing the development of numerous award-winning student-athletes. Under her leadership, Westminster has produced two Conference Players of the Year, two Conference Pitchers of the Year, three Conference Freshmen of the Year, 55 First Team All-Conference selections, eight NFCA All-Region honorees, and the program's first NFCA All-American.
Stafford began her collegiate playing career at North Central Missouri College, where she earned All-Region honors in both seasons. She then transferred to Quincy University to complete her final two years of eligibility, earning a bachelor's degree in sport management with a minor in studio art.
In addition to her collegiate coaching career, Stafford spent six years coaching with the Missouri Stealth organization and served as an assistant coach at Battle High School for five seasons.
A native of Columbia, Missouri, Stafford is a graduate of Rock Bridge High School and currently resides in Columbia.
2018-19: In her first season, Stafford led the Blue Jays to a 13-17 record.
2019-20: Covid-19 impacted her 2nd season with the Blue Jays, they were 2-2 before the rest of the season was cancelled.Â
2020-21:The Blue Jays went 15-18 in year 3 and made the SLIAC tournament.Â
2021-22: In Staffords fourth season the Blue Jays went 10-25.Â
2022-23: In her 5th season the Blue Jays went 4-36.
2023-24: In her 6th season the Blue Jays went 6-32.
2024-25: In her 7th season the Blue Jays went 11-24 and made to the SLIAC tournament for the 2nd time under Staffords leadership
2025-26: In season eight, the Blue Jays went 16-23, made to the SLIAC tournament for the 2nd season in a row and ended up placing 3rd overall.Â
