The 1959-60 Westminster College
men's basketball squad holds a unique place in the history of Blue
Jay basketball. The 1959-60 squad captured the Missouri College
Athletic Union title, becoming the first basketball squad to win
the MCAU corwn since the 1938-39 team brought home the corwn.
Ironically, the 1959-60 title would be the final MCAU title
Westminster would win in basketball and would not be until 1985-86
that Blue Jay basketball fans would celebrate another conference
championship, when Westminster captured the Ozark Collegiate
Conference trophy. The 1959-60 Blue Jays were led by All-MCAU
selection Dave Wright and All-MCAU selection Dale
Ocheskey.
