11/25/25 Fulton, MO – Westminster men's basketball closed out the Webster Classic with a hard-fought effort on Saturday afternoon, coming up just short in an 87–85 shootout against Concordia University Wisconsin. Despite four players scoring in double figures and one of their most efficient offensive performances of the season, the Blue Jays were unable to hold off a late Falcons surge.
Aidan Temple delivered a breakout performance, scoring a career-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. Temple also grabbed four rebounds and played a team-high 28 impactful minutes. Walker Gohring matched Temple's scoring punch with 22 points of his own, adding six rebounds and a team-best five assists. He went a perfect 7-for-7 at the free-throw line and anchored the offense throughout the afternoon. Kolton Garner continued his strong play at the Webster Classic with 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists while knocking down three triples. Jamile Johnson tallied 10 points and eight rebounds, while Kobe Jones contributed four points and four assists.
Defensively, Westminster forced seven steals and held their own on the glass, but 17 turnovers and several late defensive breakdowns allowed Concordia to close the game on a decisive run.
With the loss, the Blue Jays move to 1–4 on the season. Westminster now turns its focus to conference play, returning home to open SLIAC action against Webster University on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m.
