01/16/2025 St. Louis, MO- Westminster College struggled to keep pace with a hot-shooting Fontbonne team on Wednesday night, falling 95-69 in conference action. Despite a competitive first half, the Blue Jays were unable to match Fontbonne's efficiency in the second, leading to the lopsided final score.
Westminster got off to a solid start, staying within striking distance as they trailed 48-42 at halftime. Walker Gohring led the offensive effort with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Kolton Garner added 18 points, including four three-pointers. Luke Abeln and Kobe Jones each contributed 10 points, helping to keep the Blue Jays in contention early.
However, Fontbonne pulled away in the second half, outscoring Westminster 47-27 over the final 20 minutes. The Blue Jays struggled to find consistency on offense, shooting 35.8% from the field and just 21.7% from three-point range.
