Tyler Oberlag enters his sixth year as a member of the Westminster College Athletics staff and serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information. Promoted to the role in 2026, he also serves as the department's NCAA Compliance Officer.
A 2016 graduate of Westminster College, Oberlag earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Education. Following graduation, he joined America's National Churchill Museum, where he worked from 2016 to 2021 and most recently served as Director of Operations. In December 2021, he returned to his alma mater as Sports Information Director before being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information in 2026.
As Sports Information Director, Oberlag oversees the promotion and publicity efforts for Westminster's 21Â NCAA Division III athletic programs. His responsibilities include athletic communications, website management, statistics, social media strategy, graphic design, live streaming, photography, and game-day operations. He also serves as the department's NCAA Compliance Officer.
During his time at America's National Churchill Museum, Oberlag led planning for the museum's 50th Anniversary Celebration, coordinated the Midwest red carpet premiere of the film Darkest Hour, and directed the Special Relationship Project, a community art initiative that featured participation from every school in Callaway County. He also managed daily operations, including tours, weddings, and special events. During his tenure, museum visitation increased by 25 percent, welcoming guests from all 50 states and numerous countries around the world.
Oberlag remains actively involved in the local community. He serves as Vice President of the Callaway County Tourism Board, is a member of the events committee for the Brick District Playhouse, and previously served on the committee for Callaway County's Bicentennial Celebration. As a Westminster student, he was a member of Phi Delta Theta and later served three years as the chapter's Advisory Board Chair.
Tyler and his wife, Shelly, have been married since 2020 and are the proud parents of two children, Wrenley and Westley.
